What an intense week for our Girls Basketball!! With three games in a row, our girls persevered and played hard against each of their opponents.
Here are the game updates provided by our coaches:
March 14th:
D1:
Evergreen got the upper hand ending the game 30-33. Isabella Alemu and Nikko Puryear's defense was outstanding. They both were able to get rebounds and make multiple fast breaks down court to give RCS a chance at winning. Maiya Clough made hard stops on defense that forced Evergreen to drop passes and miss a lot of shots. Overall, these Lady Royals will continue to dominate in their defense for the rest of the season.
D2:
These Lady Royals were able to hit the ground running making fast breaks despite playing against mostly 6th and 7th graders, that didn't stop these girls from winning 16-11. RCS dominated in their skill level (as mostly 5th graders and only three 6th graders), with their shots and their ability to maneuver around and through the defense. Julia Thomas' ability to be aggressive and see where on court she was needed led RCS to gain this W.
March 15th:
D1:
D1 Lady Royals came out on top finishing the game 34-15 against Lake Washington! A true team effort to getting the ball down court as fast as these girls could made all the difference in the end.
D2:
Peyton Hayes led the team scoring 10 points for RCS and Reagan Riley right behind her with 9 points. Not only do these girls work amazing together as a team, but they also looked for help from their teammates when being double teamed by Lake Washington. D2 took home the win ending the score 41-3.
March 16th:
D1:
These Lady Royals came together and took home the win, ending the game 26-6. These players applied the heat with a press that was hard to break, turning over the ball back to RCS and adding another 10 points on the board.
D2:
These Lady Royals applied the pressure in their press to come out on top. Charley Smith fought hard on every jump ball called, landing RCS at the top finishing the game 27-8.
What amazing work done by our D1 and D2 Girls Basketball teams and coaches!
There is only one game left this season!! Make sure to come out and support our lady Royals Tuesday, March 28th where D1 will play at 4pm, and D2 will play at 5pm in a final face-off at Home vs Evergreen.
