Things to Know this Week (March 7th)
RCS Families,
Spring is almost here — one of my favorite times of the year! This week, we passed the 101st day of school, and it was a joy to see our creative 1st grade classes celebrate by dressing up like dalmatians. I’m continually encouraged by the academic growth we’re seeing across all grades. Just this morning, a parent stopped me to share how amazed they were by their student’s learning progress.
Even more, I’m encouraged by the spiritual growth happening on campus. Many students have made the life-changing decision to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior this year. Some have shared this decision publicly at their churches, in their classrooms, and soon, during our upcoming Baptism Chapel. God is truly at work at RCS, and I want to thank you for your continued partnership and prayers.
Important Updates & Upcoming Events
Reenrollment Update for 2025-2026
We’re excited to share that 92% of our families have reenrolled for next year! In our industry, successful reenrollment rates typically fall between 90-95%, so we are incredibly grateful for your continued trust in RCS. Additionally, our two recent new family open house events resulted in over 90 new student applications. Thank you for helping spread the word about our school community!

Student Baptisms at Chapel | Thursday, April 3rd
When a student makes Jesus their Lord and Savior, we want to celebrate that decision and encourage them to make that decision public. If your student has made the decision to follow Jesus, we encourage you to talk with your pastor about how your church celebrates this milestone. Many churches celebrate through water baptism. At RCS, we also offer 3rd-8th grade students the opportunity to be baptized during chapel on April 3rd. Interested students will attend a baptism class with Pastor Freddie beforehand. CLICK HERE to sign up your student.
No School | March 13th-14th | Teacher Professional Development
Reminder: There will be no school on March 13th-14th for Teacher Professional Development. BASC will offer full-day care, and SLC will operate on regular hours.
Mother-Son Night | Thursday, March 27th | 5:30-7:30 pm
Our 2nd Annual Mother-Son Night will be held at Sky Zone, the indoor trampoline park in Tukwila on March 27th. RCS moms (or mother figures), get ready for an unforgettable night of fun with your son! This is a free event for RCS families. On-site concessions will be available for purchase. Please be sure to complete the required Sky Zone waiver ahead of time.
Prayer & Encouragement:
This week, fresh beauty bark was added to our landscaping areas — a simple sign that spring is just around the corner. I always love the smell of new bark because it reminds me that growth and renewal are happening. Soon, our cherry trees will begin to bloom, and I can’t help but think of how often Jesus used nature to illustrate spiritual truths.
In Luke 8:4-15, Jesus tells the Parable of the Sower, describing how seed falls on different types of soil, producing very different results. The seed represents God’s Word, while the soil represents our hearts. The same seed is scattered, but the condition of the soil determines its fruitfulness. In Galatians 5:22-23, Paul describes the kind of fruit that grows in a life aligned with Christ: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
How fruitful is your life right now? If the previous list doesn’t describe your current season, I encourage you to examine your connection with Christ. In John 15:1-17, Jesus promises that if we remain connected to Him, we will bear fruit.
My prayer for each of you is that this spring would be a season of spiritual growth — one where you are refreshed, strengthened, and nourished by the love of Christ.
Have a great weekend!
