We are thrilled to share the exciting activities planned for Serve Week at RCS! This week will be a time for our students to engage in meaningful service opportunities and spread the love of Jesus through serving those around them.

Our goal for Serve Week is for students to be empowered to take the lead in serving. Students will be able to participate in our themed serve days, with Wednesday dedicated to meaningful projects led by teachers alongside their students. More information about these serve projects will be emailed teachers on Friday, March 29th.

Each evening before the serve day, we'll send out emails highlighting the day's serve focus. We want to make sure everyone is informed and engaged as we work together during Serve Week. Encourage your students to dive into the days serve theme!

Monday – RCS serves staff.
How will this work? Students will live out our S.E.R.V.E acronym that day.

  • Show kindness with acts of service.
  • Encourage with high fives and hugs.
  • Respect by giving our best attention and focus.
  • Value with a small gift.
  • Express your love through words.

Tuesday – RCS serves at home.
On this day students will accept the challenge to serve in different ways at home. Get ready for vacuuming, dishwashing, laundry folding, and maybe even some bathroom cleaning!  Take video & pictures of your students serving. Make sure to tag us and use the hashtag #RCSSERVES. You can also send in your videos and pictures to

Wednesday – RCS serves the community.
Wednesday is our chance as a school to serve our community. Here is how this will look:

KPrep, Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Letters to 1st Responders.
Our youngest learners will express gratitude to our local first responders by writing heartfelt letters. Mrs. Morasch will provide a template for the letters, while Mr. Cruise is organizing an appreciation banquet where these letters will be presented in baskets.
2nd and 3rd Grade: Meal in a Bag (Vine Maple Place)
Students will partner with Vine Maple Place to create "Meals in a Bag," providing essential items for families in need. Miss Parmenter will coordinate letters of encouragement for each bag, and parents will receive a Sign-Up Genius link for participation.
4th and 5th Grade: Letters to Sponsored Children
Students will write personalized letters of encouragement and prayer to the children we sponsor in South America and Africa. The teachers will provide templates and guidance, ensuring each letter carries heartfelt sentiments.
6th Grade: Birthday Dreams
Our sixth graders will plan birthday parties for children in need through Birthday Dreams. Parents will receive details on how to contribute to these celebrations, aiming to make the children feel special on their birthdays.
7th and 8th Grade: Art and Letters to Retirement Homes
Students will create art and letters to brighten the days of residents in retirement homes. Mrs. Grandstrand will oversee the projects, and parents will have the opportunity to volunteer for delivery.

Thursday – RCS serves God.
On Thursday, we will have a special serve-themed chapel. Our students will learn about walking as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God! We will celebrate the serving that has been done and encourage students to continue with this new way of life.

Friday – RCS serves each other.
How will this work? On this day, students will focus on 'loving their neighbor as themselves' using our S.E.R.V.E. acronym.

  • Say out loud why you appreciate your friends.
  • Encourage with high fives and hugs.
  • Respect by being peacemakers.
  • Value with encouraging notes and small gifts.
  • Engage in random acts of kindness.

We're excited for this week of service and the opportunity for our students to make a positive impact in various communities. If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please don't hesitate to reach out.
