Things to Know This Week

RCS Families,

January 27th

What will your student be like after their time is done at Renton Christian? This week we released “The Profile of a Student.” This is a new framework we developed to answer part of that question. We want to intentionally instill and inspire three qualities in every student that are rooted in a fully devoted relationship with Jesus Christ and a biblical worldview. We want each student to have Godly Wisdom, Christ-like Character, and express Love for One Another. The Profile of a Student articulates 15 indicators (5 for each quality) that will illustrate the development of these qualities. This intentional framework, founded in scripture, will guide the RCS experience. We will use this framework to evaluate our programs, activities, curriculum, staff development, etc. for their individual effectiveness and intentionality in developing these qualities, relationship with Christ, and biblical worldview in each student. I believe this new framework, in partnership with you as parents, will help develop our students into the men and women of God we pray they become.

My Encouragement and Prayer:

As we finish January, I am reminded by the words of the Apostle Paul to the church at Philippi, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:3-6. We are partners in the work of the gospel through Renton Christian. Your partnership and encouragement bring me joy and confidence. I am confident that God has begun a unique work at Renton Christian this year. The best days of RCS are ahead. Eternal destinies are being impacted every week. As we look beyond the distractions and chaos of our circumstances, we can begin to see how God is at work. I encourage you to find a moment to reflect on God’s faithfulness in your life and the blessings He has provided for you.

God, I pray you would strengthen the partnership we have with each parent at Renton Christian. Give us wisdom and direction to develop each student into whom You desire them to become. Thank you for the work you have begun at Renton Christian. Give us strength and endurance to be faithful to Your call. Provide peace, strength, and hope to everyone in the RCS Community. Amen.

I appreciate each of you. Have a great weekend!

Thanks,

Randy McMillan
